Donald Joseph Qualls, better called DJ Qualls is an American actor producer and fashion model. Apart from his Road Trip role, he also appeared in The New Guy Hustle & Flow as well as The Core. He has also appeared in more than 22 television series including Breaking Bad Supernatural Scrubs Lost Law & Order and many more. Qualls has been diagnosed at age 14 with Hodgkin lymphoma, is an extremely tough fighter. Two years after treatment, the cancer is now in the process of remission. The treatment at an early stage had a negative effect on the body. It hindered his development. Once he started acting financially secure, it was the ultimate goal since the experience of poverty was a constant throughout his life. After living so modestly over the years I have to be able to enjoy this level of financial safety. If not, the world appears beyond my reach. In an interview the actor also discusses his own growing up. He is determined to stop bullying. DJ states "Cruelty is a snare to my heart." On and off film, DJ's character would love to play the role of a father. Director doesn't pick him to fill these roles, however, he claims. He'd love to become a dad one day, in order to spend more time with his child and not be so occupied with his work.
